All About The Ears

As I promised in my last post, this post is all about The Fairy Godsisters! I was lucky enough to find The Fairy Godsisters in their earliest stages. Megan and Erin make some of the prettiest, and most unique ears in the game.

Let’s start off with some general facts about this awesome etsy. First off, this is a family business. Megan and Erin are sisters in law and the cutest BFFs! You can really tell that there is so much love in every headband they make. If quality is a concern for you, have no fear. These ears are sewn together beautifully, and made with high quality products. The ears are stuffed, as opposed to the flatter unstuffed ears many shops make. This honestly made them look so much more, “finished.”

Finally, let’s talk about comfort. Something that is not often taken into consideration when it comes to park ears is comfort. When there are already so many factors that could take away from your comfort levels in play, the last thing you need is an uncomfortable headband squeezing behind your ears. The Fairy Godsisters must have sprinkled magical fairy comfort dust onto their ears, because both pairs were super comfortable. I didn’t have to take a single break all day!!

If all of this wasn’t enough to convince you that these ears are awesome, they’re just down right adorable! The Lilly print  I loved for obvious reasons, but the Briar Rose really took me by surprise. The big tulle bow was such a unique and beautiful touch!

I paired the Lilly ears with a hot pink crop top from Nordstrom Rack, and mint shorts from J. Crew. This cute color combo matched the print perfectly, and was super comfortable!

I took a girlier approach when I was Styling the Briar Rose pair, and really took a cue from Aurora. This sweet bow back dress from Macy’s was a steal at under $20, and looked great!

Disneyland

I am so excited to tell you guys all about LA, starting with… DISNEYLAND!

disneyland4

Although my heart belongs to Walt Disney World, getting to venture into the original Disneyland was seriously amazing! My Uncle met my mom and I for the weekend, despite having a broken foot. What a trooper! The California hills were not so magical when we had to push his wheelchair up hills, but it was totally worth it for all of the amazing rides, like Hyperspace Mountain and the Storybook Land Canal.

Disneyland8

It was an exceptionally hot day, so I opted for this adorable t shirt dress from Nordstrom Rack. It was cool and comfy, and really allowed my ears to shine.

Disneyland7

Speaking of ears, these ears from The Fairy God-sisters are soooooo adorable! I actually couldn’t decide which pair was my favorite, so I took both the Briar Rose and Lilly Pulitzer! Now these ears aren’t just adorable, they are super comfortable too. I didn’t have to take a single break from them all day!

I will be doing a whole post about how I style them for a day in the parks, but for now be sure to check out The Fairy God-sisters on Etsy and Instagram!

Rocking Red Dress!

It’s been a long time since my last post, but that just means you’re in for a whole lot of recap posts (including Disneyland!)

DSC01418

The final dress LC Lauren Conrad dress from the Minnie Rocks the Dots collection, is this red dress with jumbo polka dots. This dress just really screamed rock n’ roll to me, so I paired it with these black peep toes, and a sky high sock bun! This look is so much fun, and perfect for the edgy Disney princesses out there.

DSC01421

You could of course also  pair it with for sweet flats and a head full of curl for a more traditional look.

DSC01426

This dress was quite honestly my least favorite, simply because it doesn’t scream Minnie Mouse, but if you are going for a more subtle ode to Disney, then this rocking red dress will fit the bill!

Navy Mickey Mouse Dress with a Ruffle Trim

As I’ve mentioned in my last two posts, I absolutely adore the latest LC Lauren Conrad Minnie Mouse collection!

DSC01406

Honestly I was not sure how I would feel about this dress, but once I tried it on all of my doubts melted away. First, lets start off by talking about the fit. This dress has such a flattering fit!

DSC01408

The material is stiff enough to stand away from your body, but light enough to look nice and flowy. For a dressed up look, I paired this adorable dress with some vintage inspired nude Nine West pumps. (isn’t the side detail just darling!?)

DSC01402

My favorite part of the dress is… You guessed it: the details! The print is oh so adorable, and a perfect mix of Disney magic and subtlety. The little ruffles and buttons down the front are stunning, and add just the right girly flair!

DSC01407

This dress is perfect for a day of exploring in the happiest place on earth!

New Navy Daisy Dress!

Yoo-hoo! Welcome back for another round of new Disney dresses!! If you missed my last post about the adorable coral dress from this line, you can see it here.

DSC01397

Let’s jump right in! This adorable navy dress was initially my favorite dress from this line, and with good reason! What first caught my eye was this darling daisy print. It is so reminiscent of Minnie’s classic vintage look and I absolutely adore it! The adorable polka dot faux collar just ads to the vintage feel that this dress exudes.

DSC01398

When I found this dress, I immediately remembered these stunning Crown Vintage pumps and knew they would be a perfect pair.

DSC01400

This outfit makes me so happy! There is something so fun about wearing a Minnie Mouse inspired outfit that isn’t overtly, “Disneyfied.”

Until next time, have a magical day!

New Disney Dresses!

Besides music, there are two things that get me really excited. Disney, and dresses. Put those two together and I’m the happiest girl on earth!

DSC01377

I will be doing a series of posts on all four of the dresses from the LC Lauren Conrad Minnie Rocks the Dots collection, as well as the Sephora Minnie Rocks the Dots collection. All of the dresses I will be talking about are on sale for about $25.00 at Kohl’s, and with coupons, you might even get a lower price!

DSC01366

Now let’s start by talking about this gorgeous dress! Although the color is called “ditsy red,” it is more of a coral color that leans towards a peachy pink. The color and cut are both incredibly flattering. The combination of the pretty color, adorable Minnie print, and the flattering shape make this comfortable knit dress a perfect park outfit.

DSC01390

I think it would be an adorable option for the Flower and Garden festival, but is fabulous for any spring or summer excursion to the parks!

DSC01383

The little details throughout the line are adorable, including the adorable lace faux Peter Pan collar, and tiny Minnie Mouse print on this dress.

DSC01392

Of course I wouldn’t wear these adorable lace Jessica Simpson heels to the parks, but I would totally wear this in “real life!”

A Procrastinator’s Guide To Disney World!

I have a horrible habit of putting things off till the last possible second, even when it’s something I’m really looking forward to. It’s not that I mean to, but there’s always something that seems more important. Although I looooove Disney, I don’t start planning for a trip until the night before. As an annual pass holder, not every trip needs to be perfect, but these spontaneous trips tend to go wonderfully!  As I am a self-proclaimed Disney Trip Procrastination Expert, I’ll share some of my sage wisdom on how to make a last minuet Disney trip, one of your best ever!

 dp2

Although you can just hop in your car and spend a day at Disney with NO planning, here are some tips if you’ve got at least a couple of days left before your trip! Decide how many days you are planning to stay and get hotel reservations ASAP! Call around to see which hotels have the best prices, because the best deal differs depending on when exactly you go. Look up what the weather is going to be like, so that you can plan your outfits accordingly! A couple of years ago we decided to head to the parks in November and didn’t pack a single jacket… yikes!

Now that you’ve gotten all the boring details out-of-the-way, it’s time to start having fun! If the weather is nice when you get to the park, I would suggest going on your, “must ride/ do,” first. For me, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is my top priority!

dp4

After a ride or two (depending on how late you made it in to the park…) it’s time to figure out lunch! Although you didn’t plan enough in advance to make reservations at that character lunch you wanted to go to, there are still tons of options! During my birthday trip we scored seats at the cute little restaurant in France in Epcot, and the beautiful Be Our Guest restaurant in Magic Kingdom. If you are in the mood for something a little speedier, there are always great choices like Pecos Bill or Casey’s!

dp3

Although you didn’t plan ahead for this trip, if you are doing multiple days at the parks you need to prepare for the next few days by staying hydrated. Most people aren’t aware that you can get free ice water from most of the quick service restaurants in all four parks. I’ll usually grab a glass of H2O before hopping in a long line so that I can multitask!

 dp5

Although in an ideal world we would plan all of our vacations months in advance, it doesn’t always happen that way! Weather you’re planning for a trip in December, or one this weekend, I hope that my little nuggets of wisdom will help you have a truly magical trip!

Disney Tips and Tricks!

Since I am headed out to The Happiest Place on Earth once again with my best friend, Skye, I thought it was high time I did a post about Walt Disney World! Disney is just about my favorite place on Earth:  from the exciting rides, to the yummy food, and the truly magical atmosphere! As a seasoned annual pass holder, I believe it is my duty to share some insider knowledge that I wish I had known for my first trip to Magic Kingdom.

Disney1

So without further ado, here are some tips to make your trip to The Happiest Place on Earth the happiest it can be!!

  1. If you are visiting any of the Disney Parks for a special occasion, such as a birthday or anniversary, be sure to stop by the guest relations area! They will give you a complementary personalized pin! It’s so fun to get, “Happy Birthday!” from other guests and cast members!
  2. Most of the restaurants will give you complementary ice water regardless of whether you are purchasing a meal or not. While Orlando water isn’t the tastiest, in the summer months, it is vital to stay hydrated. This is good to know because often people will spend lots of money on bottled water when they don’t really need to. Save that cash for some ears!!
  3. Fast passes are awesome! You can have up to three fast passes at a time, so make sure to snag the fast passes for your favorite ride first! (I would personally recommend the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train!) If you are staying at a Disney Resort, you can schedule your fast passes ahead of time!
  4. Bring ponchos! Yes, they are available for purchase at the parks, but once again, you may want to save your money for more exciting things (like the yummy caramel apples!)
  5. Finally, take a picture in front of the Castle first thing. I know everyone is so excited to get to the rides and start having a magical day, but you will want pictures to remember the magic! You can ask the Disney photographers to take a picture with your camera and/ or phone. Taking the classic castle picture first thing ensures everyone will have smiling faces!

These are just five of sooo many tips to help you have a magical adventure! In the words of a famous mouse, “See ya real soon!” -PS

Fourth of July Festivities!

For this all American sweetheart, Independence Day is the one holiday that really screams summer! From all of the red, white, and blue, to barbeques, it’s such a fun day! The Fourth of July is also a day when we should all take a step back and remember the struggles this country has endured to gain its freedom.

4th2

I started off the day with a yummy strawberry and pineapple smoothie, since the U.S.A. is the pine{apple} of my eye! Lea and I came up with the idea of serving our smoothies in a hollowed out pineapple after our trip to Key West. We were tempted to buy some sugary drinks just because they were adorable, but decided we could do it just as well ourselves. I’m here to tell you, hollowing out a pineapple without a pineapple corer is no easy task! We added patriotic straws for a fun touch, and voila!

4th4

Of course no Fourth of July is complete with out a little pyro action, so we headed down to the lake to enjoy the beautiful fireworks display my community puts on every year. Then we had some real fun! I had seen other people write messages with sparklers and was dying to try it out, so I grabbed a candle, a few sparklers, my mom and her camera, and a couple of friends to try my hand at it. After a couple of test shots, we got a pretty adorable and patriotic result!

4th5

Although my normal color palate consists of pink, I always dress for holidays, and Saturday was no exception! I gave a little nod to Disney with this ensemble, as my skirt has fun little hidden Mickeys on it!

4th3

This item will definitely be a repeat offender! I added a tied up navy top, my jacks, some pearls and a monogrammed necklace, and was all set for the most important part of any outfit: testing its twirlability!

4th6

How did you, “keep your eye on the grand old flag,” this Fourth of July? –PS
