This post is the first of many long overdue posts about my adventures in SoCal! I had such a great trip, and have so much to talk about, but I’ll start with my first day. My first day started off with a looong flight and lunch at The Beverly Hills Hotel.
I wore an oversized pink stripped polo and black leggings. This outfit was comfortable, without looking sloppy.
Since we left early in the morning I wore minimal makeup. My tip for traveling is to wear nothing but moisturizer until you are almost to your destination.
Once you do put on makeup, make sure to keep it light. I put on concealer, powder, mascara, and of course, Chapstick. It was perfect for a casual lunch at The Beverly Hills hotel, and a great way to start my adventures in La-la Land!
As I promised in my last post, this post is all about The Fairy Godsisters! I was lucky enough to find The Fairy Godsisters in their earliest stages. Megan and Erin make some of the prettiest, and most unique ears in the game.
Let’s start off with some general facts about this awesome etsy. First off, this is a family business. Megan and Erin are sisters in law and the cutest BFFs! You can really tell that there is so much love in every headband they make. If quality is a concern for you, have no fear. These ears are sewn together beautifully, and made with high quality products. The ears are stuffed, as opposed to the flatter unstuffed ears many shops make. This honestly made them look so much more, “finished.”
Finally, let’s talk about comfort. Something that is not often taken into consideration when it comes to park ears is comfort. When there are already so many factors that could take away from your comfort levels in play, the last thing you need is an uncomfortable headband squeezing behind your ears. The Fairy Godsisters must have sprinkled magical fairy comfort dust onto their ears, because both pairs were super comfortable. I didn’t have to take a single break all day!!
If all of this wasn’t enough to convince you that these ears are awesome, they’re just down right adorable! The Lilly print I loved for obvious reasons, but the Briar Rose really took me by surprise. The big tulle bow was such a unique and beautiful touch!
I paired the Lilly ears with a hot pink crop top from Nordstrom Rack, and mint shorts from J. Crew. This cute color combo matched the print perfectly, and was super comfortable!
I took a girlier approach when I was Styling the Briar Rose pair, and really took a cue from Aurora. This sweet bow back dress from Macy’s was a steal at under $20, and looked great!

I am so excited to tell you guys all about LA, starting with… DISNEYLAND!
Although my heart belongs to Walt Disney World, getting to venture into the original Disneyland was seriously amazing! My Uncle met my mom and I for the weekend, despite having a broken foot. What a trooper! The California hills were not so magical when we had to push his wheelchair up hills, but it was totally worth it for all of the amazing rides, like Hyperspace Mountain and the Storybook Land Canal.
It was an exceptionally hot day, so I opted for this adorable t shirt dress from Nordstrom Rack. It was cool and comfy, and really allowed my ears to shine.
Speaking of ears, these ears from The Fairy God-sisters are soooooo adorable! I actually couldn’t decide which pair was my favorite, so I took both the Briar Rose and Lilly Pulitzer! Now these ears aren’t just adorable, they are super comfortable too. I didn’t have to take a single break from them all day!
I will be doing a whole post about how I style them for a day in the parks, but for now be sure to check out The Fairy God-sisters on Etsy and Instagram!
Have a magical weekend!

It’s been a long time since my last post, but that just means you’re in for a whole lot of recap posts (including Disneyland!)
The final dress LC Lauren Conrad dress from the Minnie Rocks the Dots collection, is this red dress with jumbo polka dots. This dress just really screamed rock n’ roll to me, so I paired it with these black peep toes, and a sky high sock bun! This look is so much fun, and perfect for the edgy Disney princesses out there.
You could of course also pair it with for sweet flats and a head full of curl for a more traditional look.
This dress was quite honestly my least favorite, simply because it doesn’t scream Minnie Mouse, but if you are going for a more subtle ode to Disney, then this rocking red dress will fit the bill!
As I’ve mentioned in my last two posts, I absolutely adore the latest LC Lauren Conrad Minnie Mouse collection!
Honestly I was not sure how I would feel about this dress, but once I tried it on all of my doubts melted away. First, lets start off by talking about the fit. This dress has such a flattering fit!
The material is stiff enough to stand away from your body, but light enough to look nice and flowy. For a dressed up look, I paired this adorable dress with some vintage inspired nude Nine West pumps. (isn’t the side detail just darling!?)
My favorite part of the dress is… You guessed it: the details! The print is oh so adorable, and a perfect mix of Disney magic and subtlety. The little ruffles and buttons down the front are stunning, and add just the right girly flair!
This dress is perfect for a day of exploring in the happiest place on earth!
I don’t always wear shorts, but when I do, I make sure to find matching flowers!
These hot pink shorts are one of my favorite summer clothing items! The wider leg makes them oh so flattering, and the pretty little pleats give them a girly flair.
I paired them with this little striped top for an effortless outfit that is perfect for those moments when you just have to stop and smell the flowers. It’s been so hot lately, so of course, Jacks were a must!
Let’s get real for a second ladies. Although I adore my long curls, when it’s 93 degrees outside I’m tempted to chop it all off! Instead of going to drastic lengths, I beat the heat with this sweet little bun. It ended up looking a little like Elsa’s coronation hair-do. If only it came with her icy powers!
Although we can’t all cause a mid-summer cold spell, I made a little list of five ways to stay cool!
- Make sure to stay hydrated! I know that everyone says this, but it’s seriously the ultimate life hack! If you’re bored of plain old water, try making a yummy fruit infused water!
- Wear your hair up. There are tons of cute and simple ways to keep your hair off of your neck!
- If you have access to a pool, use it! Just don’t forget the sunscreen!
- Try making some popsicles. Sure you can just pop into the store and buy some, but kitchen experiments are always fun!
- And finally if you can’t beat it, make a list of what you enjoy about it! Focus on the fact that summer means pretty flowers, summer clothes, ice-cream cones, and less responsibilities!
How do you beat the heat? -PS

Sunday was the first day of summer which is of course, National Wear your Lilly Day! In honor of the third best day of the year (Christmas, Easter, my birthday.. Well it’s up there!) I decided to do a post all about my love of Lilly. I found out about Lilly Pulitzer a few years ago, and was automatically the brand’s, “Biggest Fan!” My, “First Impression,” of Lilly was that it was my very being personified into a clothing line. The bright colors and patterns bring so much joy into my life, and I can’t help but feel beautiful in them!
There are few things in life more exciting than a new Lilly dress! While some people do crossword puzzles or play Sudoku, I keep my mind sharp by looking for cute hidden animals in all of the prints, and of course, trying to, “Find The Lilly.”
Now onto this specific dress. If you know anything about the Lilly for Target colab, you know how quickly these items flew, and how so many people were selling items for triple their value online. This sweet shift in, “My Fans,” was an online exclusive that I thought had evaded me, since by the time I woke up at 6 am, everything in my size was sold out. I snagged a few pieces at my local Target, and was content with my finds. You can imagine my surprise when last week, about 2 months after Pink Sunday, my mom had this shift in a size 2 in pristine condition hanging on my closet!
Before you ask, no, she didn’t pay a ridiculous amount of money for it. It was returned to Target by some wonderful lady who it didn’t work for! Thank you for returning it so that I could find my favorite piece from the line! So don’t give up if you haven’t found your dream item yet. There’s still hope! What was your favorite item from the Lilly For Target colab? -PS

Now everyone who knows me knows that I have a Southern soul, but the way I take my tea gives my Midwestern roots away every time: unsweet! We’ve all heard the expression, “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade!” Well I say, when life gives you lemons, put them in everything, including your iced tea, and of course, on this darling dress that my Grammie got me!
A bright colorful dress always makes me see my glass as half full. Another thing that helps me stay focused on all of the sweet things in life, is a good freebie! Tomorrow, June 10th, is National Iced Tea Day, and to celebrate Teavana is giving away a glass of one of their yummy iced teas FREE! What’s your favorite way to drink iced tea? -PS
