Hopped on the Plane at LAX

This post is the first of many long overdue posts about my adventures in SoCal! I had such a great trip, and have so much to talk about, but I’ll start with my first day. My first day started off with a looong flight and lunch at The Beverly Hills Hotel.

I wore an oversized pink stripped polo and black leggings. This outfit was comfortable, without looking sloppy.

Since we left early in the morning I wore minimal makeup. My tip for traveling is to wear nothing but moisturizer until you are almost to your destination.

Once you do put on makeup, make sure to keep it light. I put on concealer, powder, mascara, and of course, Chapstick. It was perfect for a casual lunch at The Beverly Hills hotel, and a great way to start my adventures in La-la Land!

All About The Ears

As I promised in my last post, this post is all about The Fairy Godsisters! I was lucky enough to find The Fairy Godsisters in their earliest stages. Megan and Erin make some of the prettiest, and most unique ears in the game.

Let’s start off with some general facts about this awesome etsy. First off, this is a family business. Megan and Erin are sisters in law and the cutest BFFs! You can really tell that there is so much love in every headband they make. If quality is a concern for you, have no fear. These ears are sewn together beautifully, and made with high quality products. The ears are stuffed, as opposed to the flatter unstuffed ears many shops make. This honestly made them look so much more, “finished.”

Finally, let’s talk about comfort. Something that is not often taken into consideration when it comes to park ears is comfort. When there are already so many factors that could take away from your comfort levels in play, the last thing you need is an uncomfortable headband squeezing behind your ears. The Fairy Godsisters must have sprinkled magical fairy comfort dust onto their ears, because both pairs were super comfortable. I didn’t have to take a single break all day!!

If all of this wasn’t enough to convince you that these ears are awesome, they’re just down right adorable! The Lilly print  I loved for obvious reasons, but the Briar Rose really took me by surprise. The big tulle bow was such a unique and beautiful touch!

I paired the Lilly ears with a hot pink crop top from Nordstrom Rack, and mint shorts from J. Crew. This cute color combo matched the print perfectly, and was super comfortable!

I took a girlier approach when I was Styling the Briar Rose pair, and really took a cue from Aurora. This sweet bow back dress from Macy’s was a steal at under $20, and looked great!

Disneyland

I am so excited to tell you guys all about LA, starting with… DISNEYLAND!

disneyland4

Although my heart belongs to Walt Disney World, getting to venture into the original Disneyland was seriously amazing! My Uncle met my mom and I for the weekend, despite having a broken foot. What a trooper! The California hills were not so magical when we had to push his wheelchair up hills, but it was totally worth it for all of the amazing rides, like Hyperspace Mountain and the Storybook Land Canal.

It was an exceptionally hot day, so I opted for this adorable t shirt dress from Nordstrom Rack. It was cool and comfy, and really allowed my ears to shine.

Disneyland7

Speaking of ears, these ears from The Fairy God-sisters are soooooo adorable! I actually couldn’t decide which pair was my favorite, so I took both the Briar Rose and Lilly Pulitzer! Now these ears aren’t just adorable, they are super comfortable too. I didn’t have to take a single break from them all day!

I will be doing a whole post about how I style them for a day in the parks, but for now be sure to check out The Fairy God-sisters on Etsy and Instagram!

Navy Mickey Mouse Dress with a Ruffle Trim

As I’ve mentioned in my last two posts, I absolutely adore the latest LC Lauren Conrad Minnie Mouse collection!

DSC01406

Honestly I was not sure how I would feel about this dress, but once I tried it on all of my doubts melted away. First, lets start off by talking about the fit. This dress has such a flattering fit!

DSC01408

The material is stiff enough to stand away from your body, but light enough to look nice and flowy. For a dressed up look, I paired this adorable dress with some vintage inspired nude Nine West pumps. (isn’t the side detail just darling!?)

DSC01402

My favorite part of the dress is… You guessed it: the details! The print is oh so adorable, and a perfect mix of Disney magic and subtlety. The little ruffles and buttons down the front are stunning, and add just the right girly flair!

DSC01407

This dress is perfect for a day of exploring in the happiest place on earth!

New Disney Dresses!

Besides music, there are two things that get me really excited. Disney, and dresses. Put those two together and I’m the happiest girl on earth!

DSC01377

I will be doing a series of posts on all four of the dresses from the LC Lauren Conrad Minnie Rocks the Dots collection, as well as the Sephora Minnie Rocks the Dots collection. All of the dresses I will be talking about are on sale for about $25.00 at Kohl’s, and with coupons, you might even get a lower price!

DSC01366

Now let’s start by talking about this gorgeous dress! Although the color is called “ditsy red,” it is more of a coral color that leans towards a peachy pink. The color and cut are both incredibly flattering. The combination of the pretty color, adorable Minnie print, and the flattering shape make this comfortable knit dress a perfect park outfit.

DSC01390

I think it would be an adorable option for the Flower and Garden festival, but is fabulous for any spring or summer excursion to the parks!

DSC01383

The little details throughout the line are adorable, including the adorable lace faux Peter Pan collar, and tiny Minnie Mouse print on this dress.

Of course I wouldn’t wear these adorable lace Jessica Simpson heels to the parks, but I would totally wear this in “real life!”

Sparkle and Shine Darling!

I am very happy to announce that one of the most wonderful stores to call Miami home is officially open to the public: Mrs. Adrienne Bosh’s Sparkle and Shine Darling Boutique!

bosh3

I was lucky enough to attend one of the fabulous pre-opening events this past Friday. I had heard a bit about the store before attending this event and knew that my precious pink seersucker dress would fit in perfectly! I paired it with my nude Vince Camuto pumps, and of course a sparkly headband to match the very name of the store.

bosh4

I often imagine places that I have not yet been to as being more spectacular than they really are, but this was NOT the case! As soon as I entered the boutique and saw fluffy tulle skirts on glittery hangers, I knew that I would be coming back frequently! The store is home to a variety of amazing brands and wonderful statement pieces for both your home and wardrobe.

bosh6

If you can drag yourself away from the merchandise, you’ll have a sweet surprise awaiting you. There is a darling little cafe where you can grab a few macrons to perk you up after a rambunctious shopping spree!

Bosh1

Just when it seemed like this place couldn’t get any better, I stumbled upon the party room! Yes you read that correctly. I reverted into my five year old self when I walked into this amazing space. From the glittery pink walls to the Wonderlandesqu landscape, I was ecstatic. I seriously think I may need to throw my next birthday party here!

bosh2

If you are in Miami, I would highly recommend that you stop by! I know that I will definitely be going back to my favorite girly spot in the very near future!

Be sure to let me know what you think about the store if you stop by!

A Procrastinator’s Guide To Disney World!

I have a horrible habit of putting things off till the last possible second, even when it’s something I’m really looking forward to. It’s not that I mean to, but there’s always something that seems more important. Although I looooove Disney, I don’t start planning for a trip until the night before. As an annual pass holder, not every trip needs to be perfect, but these spontaneous trips tend to go wonderfully!  As I am a self-proclaimed Disney Trip Procrastination Expert, I’ll share some of my sage wisdom on how to make a last minuet Disney trip, one of your best ever!

 dp2

Although you can just hop in your car and spend a day at Disney with NO planning, here are some tips if you’ve got at least a couple of days left before your trip! Decide how many days you are planning to stay and get hotel reservations ASAP! Call around to see which hotels have the best prices, because the best deal differs depending on when exactly you go. Look up what the weather is going to be like, so that you can plan your outfits accordingly! A couple of years ago we decided to head to the parks in November and didn’t pack a single jacket… yikes!

Now that you’ve gotten all the boring details out-of-the-way, it’s time to start having fun! If the weather is nice when you get to the park, I would suggest going on your, “must ride/ do,” first. For me, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is my top priority!

dp4

After a ride or two (depending on how late you made it in to the park…) it’s time to figure out lunch! Although you didn’t plan enough in advance to make reservations at that character lunch you wanted to go to, there are still tons of options! During my birthday trip we scored seats at the cute little restaurant in France in Epcot, and the beautiful Be Our Guest restaurant in Magic Kingdom. If you are in the mood for something a little speedier, there are always great choices like Pecos Bill or Casey’s!

dp3

Although you didn’t plan ahead for this trip, if you are doing multiple days at the parks you need to prepare for the next few days by staying hydrated. Most people aren’t aware that you can get free ice water from most of the quick service restaurants in all four parks. I’ll usually grab a glass of H2O before hopping in a long line so that I can multitask!

 dp5

Although in an ideal world we would plan all of our vacations months in advance, it doesn’t always happen that way! Weather you’re planning for a trip in December, or one this weekend, I hope that my little nuggets of wisdom will help you have a truly magical trip!

Wynwood Food Tour!

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to participate in a Miami Culinary Tour of the Wynwood area! For those of you not from South Florida, (or those who like me seldom venture out of their little neighborhood) Wynwood is the hip and artsy section of town. Pretty much every wall is covered in phenomenal street art, and it boasts a young and very cool vibe. I even read an article that called Wynwood a, “Hipster’s Paradise.” Although I would not categorize myself as a hipster, I love art and new experiences, so I was very excited to explore the area! The group I was a part of was asked to meet at the iconic Wynwood Walls, where we met our fabulous tour guide. She gave us a general idea of what we would be eating, as well as a brief but interesting, history of the Wynwood area.

IMG_3342

Our first stop was Wynwood Kitchen and Bar, where we got to try a sampling of some yummy Miami comfort food, which included an empanda, sweet plantains with queso fresco, and a tequeno, which is basically the Venezuelan version of a mozzarella stick! What’s not to love about that?!

IMG_3364

On the way to our next stop, which was RHouse, we learned some more about the amazing art in the Wynwood area, and got to take a peak at the Wynwood Walls. Although I was sad to have to walk away from all of the beautiful walls, I was quickly soothed by the spread that RHouse had waiting for us. There was a yummy Tuna Tartar, and the most delicious slider ever!

IMG_3379

After this, we ventured onward to Pride and Joy. Don’t come into this place expecting anything fancy! This was a very relaxed environment, and on top of some amazing pulled pork, they had some of my favorite oldies playing, which was a nice bonus!

IMG_3382

After this, we ventured to the opposite end of the food spectrum: Ceviche, which is one of my all time favorite foods, and SuViche did not disappoint! It was an adorable little spot, and their classic ceviche lived up to my very picky pallet! From the moment we left this spot, I’ve been dreaming about returning to try some different varieties!

IMG_3396

Although it was difficult to pull myself away from ceviche paradise, our next stop was by far the most adorable stop on this tour! Made in Italy is such an adorable place to sit down for a snack. Although my palate wasn’t quite sophisticated enough for truffle cheese, the presentation was adorable, and the overall atmosphere was absolutely charming!

IMG_3416

After this darling stop, we headed out to Fireman Derek’s Key Lime Pies, which was sadly our last stop. The tour ended on a sweet note with none other than Derek’s famous Key Lime pie! It was such a yummy treat, and the perfect desert for a sweltering Miami afternoon.

IMG_3427

Overall, this was an excellent tour! Whether you are local, or visiting Miami, this is a fabulous way to see the city in a new way, try a variety of local foods, and meet interesting new people!

Bonita Beach

Recently I’ve been working on my time management and trying to get my posts together on time. I know it was quite a few weeks ago, but I’m going to be blogging about my wonderful Memorial Day getaway! I spent my long weekend at the, “bonita,” Bonita Beach!

Bonita1

One of the exciting activities we did was go on a dolphin sighting day cruise! It was an amazing experience as dolphins are my favorite animal. For this part of our adventure, I wore a denim shorts outfit with my wonderful Sperrys!

bonita3

We then spend most of the remaining time at the beach. I was so excited to finally get to wear my Lilly for Target bikini in “Fan Dance.” I was in my Vineyard Vines baseball cap basically the whole weekend!

bonita4

Finally, we got to enjoy the astonishing sunset. For this, I wore another one of my favorite comfy poplin dresses from Old Navy! After watching the sunset, I could see why they called this beach, “bonita,” which is Spanish for beautiful!

What did you do for Memorial Day? -PS
